David G. Abbott

Associate

David G. Abbott is an associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office. He concentrates his practice in Wage & Hour Litigation, Wrongful Termination, Harassment, Discrimination, Employment Advice and Counsel and Internal Investigations.  Mr. Abbott is originally from the Bronx, New York and attended Cornell University where he received his B.S. in Environmental Economics. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Abbott was an Information Technology Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, in New York City.  While in law school Mr. Abbott worked for the National Labor Relations Board and served as a Judicial Extern for both the Honorable Laurence Rubin and the late Honorable Paul Boland of the California Court of Appeal for the Second District of California, Division Eight.

Representative Matters

As an associate with CHK, Mr. Abbott has helped successfully resolve cases in several areas of employment law, notably: several California meal and rest break class actions, California and federal misclassification and failure to pay overtime cases, single plaintiff cases dealing with disability discrimination/harassment, failure to engage in the “interactive process” or make “reasonable accommodation”, sexual harassment, gender and age discrimination, wrongful discharge and retaliation.  Mr. Abbott has also participated in both the enforcement and invalidation of non-compete agreements on behalf of our clients and has drafted or reviewed employee handbooks, manuals and policies and conducted several wage and hour audits.
